The TOA  official video for ‘Freak My Style‘. Directed and edited by D-Shot for Big Shot Music Inc. and was produced by Dirt Gritie of MFM who was also a co-director.

TOA, short for The Over Achievers, are made up of brothers, Muta (17), Namso (15) and Moto (13). The 2011 award recipients of the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers Youth Achievement Award began their music career at the Tegler Youth Centre where the brothers first began writing raps as part of the Hope Mission’s youth hip-hop program. New to Canada from Sudan and still learning English, TOA received mentorship under youth workers and Old Ugly Records recording artists Mikey Maybe and The Joe.

In 2009, Politic Live of Dirt Gritie signed TOA to Music For Mavericks and quickly began the trio’s artist development which included learning how to engage an audience, recording techniques, media training, the business of music, and the history of hip-hop locally and nationally. Since being under Music For Mavericks TOA has opened for major label acts (Mac Miller/ Rostrum Records and J. Cole/Roc Nation), performed at regional showcases (NextFest, Hip Hop in the Park, and Urban Games), and received radio airplay (CJSR, CBC, CFWE, Bounce 91.7 and LightItUpRadio.com).

TOA are presently working on their debut album.
