Interview: Manik1derful of the The STARMAKERZ

Hailing from East Vancouver, Manik1derful, DJ Sichuan and Magic Touch are the Starmakerz. The award winning production team has helped Inez sweep the 2009 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in Winnipeg, MB. As a group they’ve travelled all over, spreading their message and helping others along the way to become stars.

Who are the Starmakerz and their affliations?
Starmakerz are Manik 1derful , Dj Sichuan and Magic Touch and we are the secret behind the Stressed Street movement

How long has your team been together and how did you guys hook up?
We have been making music for the last few years as the Starmakerz. Manik and Sichuan have been a team since the Sunday Skool Dropoutz but a few years ago we drafted the rookie of the year Magic Touch.

What services do you offer?
We will make you a beat. Write you a song. Record it for you and get it released for you if need be. Basically if you have talent we will magnify it for the public to see! We notice alot of ya’ll that record music are working with average producers and mediocre engineers. We will be the difference!

Who are some of the stars your team has worked with?
We have worked with everything that has been of success in Vancouver. Swollen Members , Moka Only , Defenders Of the Faith , Inez , Joey Stylez and many more 

What school credentials do you guys have?
DJ Sichuan has 15 years of recording experience and a gods ear. Magic Touch is a certified engineer with all the paperwork you need. Manik invented free recording for youth in Vancouver many years ago. We are the Bob Rocks of native music.

What kind of recording equipment do you use?
We use only industry standard equipment. Pro Tools , quality condenser and ribbon mics , logic , reason and many samplers , keyboards and various other hardware from the gods.

The rates vary depending on how bad you want it

Starmakerz album will be out this summer…..pure fiyah..,hotta den de sun

Any other projects on the go?
we are working on projects with everyone…..but check for mixtapes galore for real for real

Where have you guys toured?
We have toured everywhere in North America and plan on going overseas this summer!

What workshops do you provide?
We can provide song making workshops from steps a – z . These workshops will vary depending on the program that pays for us to be in attendance

How did dubstep get so popular in Vancouver?
Dubstep became so popular in Vancouver because this is the center of the worlds E production. Duh!

What other genres have you worked with and what other artists have you collabed with?
We will make every genre better then anybody else. We win they lose.

Do you see the native scene changing the game or just merely adapting to it?
Us native have changed the game since the first hey ya! The trick is adapting just enough to be in ap lace to change the game!

Where do you see you & the Starmakerz in 5 years?
I see us ghostprducing for Neptunes and Timbaland to keep there careers afloat. We already make better beats
