Native Model Studio is in Vancouver for the Olympics and they are hosting the NMS Industry Mixer at the Edzerza Gallery. Manik is the host for this event filled with a Native fashion show and a performance by OS12 and beats by DJ Sichuan.

Raekwon, the chef of the Wu-Tang Clan and one of the founding members, is on a Western Canadian tour for his latest release, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt2. Presented by Foundation Concerts & Urban DNA, The Starlite Room was packed full of Wu-Tang fans and Raekwon did not disappoint his fans. Also opening up was K-Blitz & Sonik, I.P. featuring Rasul Syed, Global Syndicate, & DJ Twist.
Wildstyle Wednesdays hosts Hungry Hungry Hip Hop, a smaller version of Edmonton’s annual year end wrap up event, Hip Hop 4 Hunger. This year event included hometown talent from Politic Live, K-Riz, Locution Revolution, AOK and Kaz Mega. Making a trip back home to perform is Edot and Shiest makes an appearance.

Red3 presents: BLANC 2.0 all white affair at the Island. Lots of people braved the freezing temperatures and came down to Whyte Ave to the Island to see another memorable perfomance by this up and coming label. This was also the return of one of Edmonton’s veteran emcee’s, Advokit of NonStatus who is Red3’s newest member. Also performing was the rest of the Red3 camp: Julez, Jack Fro$t, Anasaz, Lady Eloquence and the hottest beats spun by DJ Giant.
Wildstyle Wednesdays presents Chubbs CD Release party, he is fairly young, so one might assume he is new on the scene, but his polished sound and melodic flow definitely state otherwise. Also performing was Grim Empire’s own Sonik & K Blitz, N$C’s Essence MC & Rome Angel, Jae Mayez & Shaw and an open mic at the end of the night.
