While the art of turntablism continues to please audiences across the world, it goes without saying that DJ Dopey has played an integral part in its global success. Having performed as a DJ/Turntablist alongside pioneers like DJ Q-Bert, DJ Craze, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mix Master Mike, Dopey solidified his role amongst these innovative DJ’s formally by winning the most coveted DJ title of them all, he became 2003’s WORLD DMC CHAMPION. In addition to his World DMC win he is no stranger to the world DJ battle circuit. His other 1st place titles include 2001 Allies All Star Beatdown Champion as well as 2002/2003 Vestax Canadian Champion among others.
As a founding member of the Turntable Monkz, and now a certified world champion, DJ Dopey took the opportunity to tour the world a few times over sharing stages with artists such as Eminem, Madlib, Slum Village, Frank N Dank, Kardinal Offishall, and Gang Starr. He continues his globetrotting by carrying out his seasoned successes as a key group member of Notes to Self. As one of Canada’s premiere talents, DJ Dopey has also collaborated and has contributed to other projects with artists such as Saukrates, Choclair and DCS.
In his 10 years as a DJ/Turntablist, Dopey has accomplished a great deal; he has “battled” his way to the top!!!

Wildstyle Wednesdays presents Chubbs CD Release party, he is fairly young, so one might assume he is new on the scene, but his polished sound and melodic flow definitely state otherwise. Also performing was Grim Empire‘s own Sonik & K Blitz, N$C‘s Essence MC & Rome Angel, Jae Mayez & Shaw and an open mic at the end of the night.
Blu and Rez Inc traveled to Edmonton to perform at the Gas Pump for another show presented by Shawn Bernard. Making the trip out with them was Crown P and Variety Daily. Aboriginal People Choice Music Award/Canadian Aboriginal Music Award nominee, Will Belcourt opened up, Feenix did some video shots for his upcoming video with C-Prian and also performed some songs with Lady Eloquence.
After years of hearing about the album and a lot revisions later Joey Stylez Debut Blackstar is finally made available to the public. The debut includes the award winning collaboration Sugar Cane with Cha Boy Recording artist Big Sav produced by Vancouver production team The Vangaurds (Dj kemo and Vago). If you have been following the career of Joey Stylez in the past few years you’ve come to expect a certain level of commercial appeal from the Saskatchewan Native and Blackstar is no exception with songs like Jail Byrd, Kool Running and Living Proof listeners will not be disappointed when buying the album from the Itunes store.
